Feasibility Study of Extra-Low Power Broadband Wireless Networkin g

Status :
Active
Contract Number:

Time Period:
Nov 2001 - present
Principal Investigator :
Li-He Zou

Sponsored by:
  • The State of Louisiana through CEnIT

Summary:
  • The objective of this research is to build a test prototype of wireless networking system. The system consists of ultra high RF transmitter and receiver with digital encoder and decoder. A broadband code with a high signal compression rate will be investigated and the corresponding encoder and decoder will be developed. The system has many unique features including extra-low required power, immunity of interference, multi-accessibility, miniaturability, etc. Those features make the system particular suitable for in-door networking and for massive production. In-door networking has a variety of applications and has a vast market. Field test of the system and the feasibility study for in-door networking will be conducted.
