This facility comprises 950 sq. ft. (88 m2) of
floor space on the LTU campus. The facility is designed to test the short-
or long-term pressure response of a variety of pipes and pipe lining systems.
Use of the test facility can be arranged by contacting the TTC office.
The Pipeline Rehabilitation Test Facility contains:
- a high-pressure water storage and delivery system composed of
a 300-gallon supply tank, a large air compressor and two positive;
- displacement pumps;
- two 128 cu. ft. (3.6 m3 ) environmental chambers to perform elevated
temperature testing of pipe liners;
- MEPTS 9000 computer based-data acquisition system for measuring
liner radial displacements and pressures; and
- steel host pipes and associated stiffeners and end seals for
performing liner buckling tests:
• 90 pipes – 12 in. (30 cm) in diameter and 6 ft. (1.8
m) long;
• 90 pipes – 8 in. (20 cm) in diameter and 5 ft. (1.5 m) long.
